Hi there! I hope the year's been good to you!
I've been having lots of fun sharing my stories and hearing from people who've enjoyed them. There are now 200 people subscribed to this blog and I'm very grateful.
I want to share updates about my New Year’s resolutions, but I'd also like to share another project: My friend and I released an album! It's dark electronic music, but I'm not sure what to call it beyond that. It's been oodles of fun and a great challenge.
This year I made two resolutions. One is to gain ten pounds, and I'm just about there -- I've gained nine! Soon enough I'll be in maintenance mode.
The second resolution is to write my novel. I wrote much more in the second quarter of the year (and then I took a month-long break to work on the album) and am currently at 75,000 words!
Current state of things:
Of the four main stories, one is finished and the other three are about half-finished.
There are plenty of nested myths and folktales, two of which I've posted on the blog (here and here).
I expect it to be 100,000 words. This doesn't line up with the remaining stories being half-finished because I expect to cut at least 10K at the end of writing.
I'm confident I'll finish a (mangled, skeletal, horrifying) first draft by the end of the year.
Let me know how your own projects are going!
